Choose Life

Published by:

From Deuteronomy 30, from the story of Mount Ebal and Mount Gerazim, with death and life, good and evil, blessing and cursing set before us, we consider how we can better choose life. The listeners of this podcast are already Christians, already choosing a spiritual life. Are there ways we have been led off track? Can we see life a little better, and choose life a little better? I think so. I think this passage with help us. We will understand a little more about the ways of God from his commandments, statutes, and judgements.  We will find out more about God’s blessings.  We will find out that blessings, good, and life all come together, are connected, and — it is good news!

Please bless us with a donation. Please see the right hand side bar. PayPal can take your credit or debit card, as well as Paypal. Let us know if you need Cashapp, Western Union  or Zelle. We have come to believe that this is indeed part of the blessing economy of God. Tithing is a commandment.  Giving is a statute.  Blessing others is a way of life. I hope this podcast, laboring in doctrine blesses you. Please please us with some “green folding energy” so we can share some more. Also, we would be happy to come to your location to share with the saints if you like and could make that possible. Blessings!

The Gospel in 4 Points – from John Wesley – including sinless perfection

Published by:

John Wesley, a famous preacher in the 1700s, preached the whole gospel in just 4 points. He created a movement, and from that, many movements that last to this day.

These 4 points is what he taught all his helpers. That is what they preached.  It has a lot of power today for everyone.

It is particularly important for us, who are reconsidering sonship doctrine because he was the first person to preach sinless perfection. The holiness movements came out of the Wesleyan movements. To build well, it is a good idea to understand the foundations.

Here is this same message in  Spanish. El mismo mensaje en Espanol.

Here is a movie on John Wesley, that will give you a good feel for him and his work. What they portray about his time in Georgia with the girl is very uncertain.  Most probably it is souped up for movie purposes.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1053946/

Here is John Wesley’s sermon #40 on sinless perfection, in print form. http://www.godrules.net/library/wsermons/wsermons40.htm

Death to Self OR The Crucified Life

Published by:

Wow! This was a long time in coming, but it may be the most important episode. Preaching “death to self” or (surprise to me) more properly “The Crucified Life” as good news! Of course, we are crucified with Christ, but trying to become dead as a means to obtain merit can be dangerous.  Of utmost importance in terms of being saved, not losing your salvation, having a good life, and not exasperating your children. Worth more teaching, which will be forthcoming — sometime.  Please do check back. In the meantime, please share.

Here is Kevin Zadai’s message on “The Crucified Life.

While “death to self” was central in Move doctrine, there are few Move documents online. Here is one example: The Son of Man Must Be Crucified by Sam Fife.

We do have a message on this topic in Spanish here.

Foundations Resurrection

Attaining the Resurrection : Philippians 3:10

Published by:

We have heard many times: “That I may know Him….That if by any means, I might attain to the resurrection from the dead.”  But what in meant or implied in “attaining the resurrection”?  Surely it doesn’t mean that we work for our salvation. Does it mean that we must complete our salvation or  become perfect  by our actions?  Of course, it goes along with “work out your own salvation.”  What can we learn if we delve into the whole passage, and include Greek word and grammar study? This such an important passage that we must not merely rely on some titillation of the past, nor some bullying of an impressive man, or even the point we came to in revelation in some point in the past. Let us press on to have an accurate understanding, with balance. Who could argue with that?

Let us unpack the Scripture, relying on Wuest’s Wordstudies in the Greek New Testament. This is really the best authority from Greek for this passage, as Wuest goes in depth.   Going to the Greek does not change things; it helps us understand what was originally said. I think you will enjoy it, and be freed from much confusion and concern.

Other study on this passage Bible Hub and Clark’s commentary along with translation from Young’s and Darby

John Wesley’s notes show that he considered this attaining to be attaining the removal from all sin in life.

I have not found John Calvin mentioning the passage; he is much more interested in other comments in the same passage, in an effort to fend off the teaching of works in the Roman Catholic church of his time. Ligonier, representative of the Reformed tradition, understands this passage to be Paul’s doubt about his manner of death and what the route might be towards his final judgement.

John Gill thinks that persecution and tribulations were included in Paul’s notion

F.F. Bruce, highly regarded scholar and commentary writer saw this as a problem passage.” He denies that this attaining must be by martyrdom. Instead, F.F. Bruce thinks that this resurrection is that same as for all believers. He thinks instead, that Paul is doubting that he will still be alive when Jesus returns.

Sonship Assumes Fatherhood

Published by:

And obvious truth: to be a son, there has to be a father. Another obvious truth: that we are children of God at all, depends upon the love of the Father.

So how did we miss this in our discussions (so many years ago) about sonship? Let’s go over basic scriptures, to see what they really say. A little Greek, but mostly just the flow of the original argument, establishes that sonship is about growing in what was given us in our birth — rather than about some new “gospel” of works, etc.

I think you will rejoice when you get the idea.

Mentioned as preaching sonship rooted in the love of God:  Dan Nori’s course hosted by Joseph Peck, January 2019, and Johnny Enlow’s Rise 7 podcast #133 and  #87.

Please share to those interested.

What Does a Mature Son of God look like?

Published by:

What in the world would a mature son of God look like? Today, let’s try for a clear idea of what a mature Son of God looks like. This answers “what about eschatology?” and “What about 7M?” Quick mention of Rev 12 and I Thessalonians 5. What does a Son of God look like? Like JESUS. See Acts 10:38.

About time the pattern didn’t get ignored.

So let’s see every one de-oppressed. How about that?

Here is a brief history of what has been called the “Sam Fife Body of Christ Move of God.”

Not trying to call anyone out and not overlooking the blemishes. The point is to not replicate the mistakes made in the past. All respect to those who stepped out and risked much in order to answer the call to “go all the way with God.”

Nevertheless, if I am tasked with repreaching this, then it would be my duty to put the discussion into some historical context. Not saying this is exhaustive. Please feel free to add any concise, civil addition you yourself know of by eye witness.

Jesus, Hijo Modelo — Un Gran Noticia

Published by:
